JLG Forklift Part - After retiring in the late 1960's, John L. Grove embarked on on a cross country RV trip. After spending many years establishing his family built crane business with his brother, John had no idea that this journey would give birth to the rise of JLG Industries, Inc. The world leader of mobile aerial work platforms and precision material handling technologies was the end consequence of a road expedition.

While on their trip, John spent time talking to previous business contacts whom the Groves stopped to visit along the way. These conversations combined with a tragic event-two workers being electrocuted on scaffolding when the Groves were going to the Hoover Dam- John discovered a vast marketplace for a product that could promptly and securely lift people in the air to accomplish upkeep and other construction functions.

Upon returning from their travels, John established a joint venture with two friends and acquired a metal fabrication company in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. In 1970, starting operations with a crew of twenty workers, they created and sold the first JLG aerial work platform. The company incorporates some of the simple design elements of that original lift into current designs.

Since then, JLG Forklifts have come a long way from when Mr. John L. Grove came back from his fatefull cross-country journey and since the first JLG aerial platform entered the market. As of today, the business has extended itself into several global marketplaces and continues to develop new equipment to ensure that customers are able to become safer and more resourceful within their workplace.
